Radom Academy of Economics has hosted the exhibition of the best Polish press photos - PRESS FOTO 2009 for the second time in its history. Photos could be seen in the Caffe Gallery at Radom Academy of Economics, 61a Traugutta Str., from 18th October to 7th November 2009. 

Press Foto 2009 is the fifth edition of the contest for the best Polish press photos. Bank Zachodni WBK is the organiser of the contest and a daily newspaper „Rzeczpospolita” is a media patron of it. The Press Photo exhibition can be seen in only chosen cities among which Radom is listed. The exhibitions in Radom were organised thanks to the cooperation of the Radom Academy of Economics with the organisers of the contest. 

Over 150 photos of 37 awarded authors were exhibited at the Caffe Galery at Radom Academy of Economics. The exhibition presents the best Polish press photography which documents important social problems as well as events in Poland and in the world. It portrays various aspects of social life – interesting people, initiatives or events. This year almost 6,000 photos by 325 authors were submitted for the contest in six categories: society, portraits, events, civilisation, sport, nature and environment. 

The photos at the exhibitions tell stories about people, their passions, joys, misfortunes and ordinary life. Press photography is unlike any other kind of art, it is as close to human life as possible, depending on the circumstances, main hero of the photo or the photoreporters' courage.

The best press photos were selected by the jury composed of:

- Anna Brzezińska – PAP
- Sławomir Kamiński - "Gazeta Wyborcza"
- Waldemar Kompała - "Rzeczpospolita"
